State visit from France

President Emmanuel Macron will visit Sweden on 30–31 January 2024 at the invitation of His Majesty The King. On 30 January, he will also visit the Swedish Defence University for round-table discussions and a speech on security policy.

The purpose of the state visit is to strengthen and promote relations between Sweden and France. It also aims to stimulate deeper cooperation in areas such as innovation and the green transition, as well as defence and security in the region.

Moderator: Robert Egnell, Vice-Chancellor of the Swedish Defence University

At 4:30 p.m., President Macron will give a lengthy speech to the cadets of the Swedish Defence University and other specially invited guests. The King and the Prime Minister will also speak.
