Professor Stephen G. Brooks visits the Swedish Defence University to discuss current security policy under the title "US Grand Strategy - Implications of a new Trump era?"

On Monday 27 May, Professor Stephen G. Brooks, who works at Dartmouth College in the United States, will visit us to discuss with teachers and students about NATO's new position in Northern Europe, about US security policy and about the consequences of a possible return of Donald Trump to the White House.

Moderator: Magnus Christiansson.

All employees and students at the Swedish Defence University are welcome. No pre-registration is required. The talks will be held in English.

More about Professor Brooks

Since 2023, Professor Brooks is a visiting professor of international relations at the Department of Economic History and International Relations at Stockholm University. His publications include the monographs America Abroad: The United States' Global Role in the 21st Century (Oxford University Press) and World Out of Balance: International Relations and the Challenge of American Primacy (Princeton University Press, 2008), as well as the articles "The Myth of Multipolarity: American Power's Staying Power" (Foreign Affairs, 2023) and "Illusions of Autonomy: Why Europe Cannot Provide for Its Security if the U.S. Pulls Back" (International Security, 2021).
