Record-breaking interest in Cyber Challenge
On 1 February, Cyber Challenge 2024 took place and the interest was greater than ever. A number of actors in the field of cyber security and students from higher education institutions around Sweden participated.
The Cyber Challenge is an annual policy-oriented cyber security competition organised by the Swedish Defence University in collaboration with the National Cyber Security Centre. A record number of teams applied to compete this year, which resulted in participation from 11 different universities. The law was judged by a panel of judges consisting of people from both business and the public sector with experience in cybersecurity.
Loud cheers erupted when the 3 winning teams were presented in the Sweden Hall.
- First place: ReSyst from the Swedish Defence University
- Second place: KTH Cyber Defenders from KTH Royal Institute of Technology
- Third place: Cyber Sherlocks from the Swedish Defence University
The day also offered inspirational lectures and a recruitment square consisting of actors in the security field. Here, too, there was record interest among both exhibitors and visitors.
"In the current security situation, this day feels extra important and we are grateful for the large turnout. We are already looking forward to next year. Again, a big thank you to everyone present," says Carolina Dalmo, project manager for the competition.
