Lieutenant General Dennis Gyllensporre new Chairman of NATO Diana's Board

Dennis Gyllensporre, Associate Professor of Political Science at the Swedish Defence University, was elected on 26 September as the new Chairman of NATO DIANA's Board. He will assume the chairmanship on January 1, 2025.

NATO DIANA (Defence Accelerator of the North Atlantic) is tasked with promoting defence innovation among NATO member countries. DIANA supports the emergence of civilian companies with the potential to contribute to the development of military capability through new technology.

"It is very pleasing that Dennis Gyllensporre has been elected chairman. He will do an extraordinary job in developing and promoting defence innovation in NATO. This also shows that Sweden plays a central role in the international work that is now being done to strengthen the military capability in NATO with the help of groundbreaking innovative technology," says Minister of Defence Pål Jonson in the government's press release.

Dennis Gyllensporre has previously been head of the Swedish Armed Forces' Command Staff and commander of the UN military mission in Mali.

"I am both proud and grateful for the trust to lead the board. DIANA plays a crucial role as a bridge between military capability development and the private sector, enabling rapid and effective exploitation of technological advances. My ambition is to ensure that we maintain a focus on the operational needs of the military units, while developing common solutions that benefit all members within the Alliance based on national conditions," said Lieutenant General Dennis Gyllensporre.
