SEDU joins the Research Network LACMO
Centre for International and Operational Law joins Research Network for the Law of Armed Conflict, Military Operations, Arms Control Law and (Cyber) Security Law (LACMO).
– The cooperation agreement has great potential to foster our international cooperation in the area of research. All participating institutions are active in the same area of international and operational law and an exchange of researchers, joint research projects and other activities will further SEDU’s aim to be an important international actor in our field, says Professor Jann K Kleffner, head of Centre for International and Operational Law at the Swedish Defense University
The Research Network is aimed at the promotion and joint execution of research activities and projects in relevant areas of international law relating to armed conflict, the law of military operations including peace operations and arms control and (cyber) security law.
Participating parties in the Research Network are universities, institutions or research groups from both Europe, USA and Australia.
Cooperation in the Research Network can include the organization of joint activities such as conferences and seminars, the conducting of joint research projects such as publications or series of publications devoted to a particular theme or topic, and staff exchange for purposes of conducting research.
The participation of SEDU is effective for an initial period of five years, which may be renewed. SEDU designates The Centre for International and Operational Law and its Head Professor Dr Jann K Kleffner to represent SEDU in the Research Network.
