Christina Zander is the new University Director
The Swedish Defence University has recruited Christina Zander as the new University Director and Head of Administration at the university. Zander was most recently employed as the Head of Administration at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
“Christina Zander is a person with solid experience in administration, organisational support and governance issues in the university sector, and she has successfully led organisations both on a daily basis and in the context of major change processes. She has an impressive drive and leadership ability that will contribute to the development of the Swedish Defence University, and we are very pleased to welcome her to our team,” says Vice-Chancellor Robert Egnell.
Zander has nearly 30 years of experience from the higher education sector, most recently from KTH, where in 2018 she led the merger of three schools’ administrations into a single administration and then became Head of Administration of the new School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, which has approximately 1,000 employees.
“I’m very pleased to have been entrusted with the task of leading the Swedish Defence University’s administration. The Swedish Defence University has a strong brand and I look forward to contributing to the university’s lofty ambitions in terms of quality and internationalisation. My initial focus will be on getting to know my new colleagues, the organisation and the work culture,” says Christina Zander.
Prior to KTH, Zander worked at the Stockholm School of Economics (HHS), where she held several different positions, including Marketing Director and Director of Student Affairs.
Zander takes over on 9 May and succeeds Ronny Modigs, who left the Swedish Defence University at the end of last year.
