Societal resilience and relevance of infrastructure for crisis preparedness, civil protection and total defence in the new NATO countries, Finland and Sweden
The research project examines how critical infrastructure and crisis preparedness in Sweden and Finland have evolved after joining NATO.
The purpose of the project is to understand how NATO membership has affected Sweden and Finland in terms of infrastructure and societal resilience. This includes analysing the critical infrastructure that underpins the flow of essential goods and services.
Supply chains and crisis preparedness after NATO membership
The project's goal is to generate knowledge about how Sweden and Finland have adapted to NATO membership and how it has impacted supply chains, societal preparedness, and resilience in both countries. The research project will also highlight how infrastructure and supply chains can be restructured to strengthen societal preparedness.
The project is divided into four work packages. The first work package is a literature review examining societal resilience in Sweden and Finland. The second and third work packages focus on a larger case study analysing key events, decisions, and patterns. The final work package compares, synthesises, and discusses the results from the previous studies.
