Vice-Chancellor Robert Egnell receives extended appointment

On 6 February, the Government decided to extend Robert Egnell's appointment as Vice-Chancellor of the Swedish Defence University for another three-year period, until March 2028..

At the proposal of the Board of the Swedish Defence University the Government has decided on a three-year extension of Robert Egnell's position as Vice-Chancellor. The Board's proposal was preceded by a process that included a so-called consultation procedure in which employees were invited to ask questions to the Vice-Chancellor and Chairman of the Board, Carl Fredrik Graf.

Robert Egnell is a professor of leadership and was appointed Vice-Chancellor of the Swedish Defence University in 2019. Most recently, he came from the position as head of the then Department of Security, Strategy and Leadership.

The appointment as Vice-Chancellor is for six years, after which it may be renewed twice. Each renewed appointment may last for three years, which means that a Vice-Chancellor can serve for a maximum of 12 years.
