On 6 February, Cyber Challenge 2025 took place. Alongside the competition, Industry Day was organised, attracting many visitors."Due to the current security situation, Cyber Challenge is more important than ever. We are very grateful for the high level of participation," says Jenny Bohman, project manager at the Swedish Defence University.
Once again, the Swedish Defence University organised Cyber Challenge in collaboration with the National Cybersecurity Centre. The competition attracted students from across Sweden, with teams from institutions such as Blekinge Institute of Technology, Dalarna University, and Chalmers University of Technology. In the end, however, it was three teams from the Swedish Defence University that claimed the top positions.
There was loud cheering as the three winning teams were announced in the Sverigesalen auditorium.

- 2nd place: Team Sepals from the Swedish Defence University
- 3rd place: SOLO from the Swedish Defence University
"Given the current security situation, it is crucial that Sweden remains resilient and capable of responding to the attacks we face. Cyber Challenge provides participants with the opportunity to develop, analyse, and manage complex situations and make strategic decisions – just as in real cyber crises. This is why Cyber Challenge is more important than ever," says Jenny Bohman.
Industry Day Attracted Many Visitors
Alongside the competition, Industry Day was held. Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to network with key players in the security sector and attend an inspirational lecture on cybercrime.
"We can see that interest in Industry Day is growing every year, which is very encouraging. At the recruitment fair, companies such as Combitech and Swedbank, as well as government agencies within the National Cybersecurity Centre, were present. Many students were keen to network with these organisations," says Anna Främst, coordinator and head of Industry Day at the Swedish Defence University.
In addition to the recruitment fair, a highly appreciated inspirational lecture was delivered by Detective Superintendent Jan Olsson, who spoke on the theme of cybercrime.
