Studying with a disability
Everyone should be able to study on as equal terms as possible. If you have a disability, you can apply for support in order to carry out your studies.
For example, you can get help through:
- Course literature in the form of speaking books
- A Resource room
- Extended exam time
- Alternative forms of exam
- A Computer in written examinations
Apply for support early
Apply well in advance to ensure that the support is in place when you start studies or for elements of the course. You apply by logging into the Nais system. There you need to fill out the application form.
A decision on educational support requires that you have a certification confirming permanent disability, as well as an ongoing registration at the Swedish Defence University.
You must attach certification confirming permanent disability to your application.
Once the application is received, the Swedish Defence University’s coordinator will contact you to book a personal meeting.
Temporary disability
If you have a temporary injury or illness, you do not have the right to special educational support. Contact the Swedish Defence University's study and professional counsellors should you have questions.
